2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium
More than 500 University of Utah undergraduate students, representing every college and more than 70 academic departments and schools, presented their research projects in the 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium, held April 9, 2019. The symposium highlighted the U's commitment to undergraduate research and featured oral, poster and performance presentations.

Himalayan Mountaineering Class Visits Nepal
Eleven Hamilton students traveled to the Annapurna region of Nepal over spring break as part of this semester's Himalayan Mountaineering class. Taught by Professor of History Maurice Isserman, the course examines Himalayan mountaineering over the past 150 years, and its roots in imperial expansion, national competition, and cultural and social evolution. The trip was supervised by Assistant Director of Outdoor Leadership Sarah Jillings.

Nearly 150 University of Utah students volunteered with the U's Alternative Breaks program this spring. The U's award-winning Alternative Breaks program gives students an opportunity to immerse themselves in a weeklong or weekend experience focused on social and environmental issues.

Approximately 40 University of Utah students were accepted to intern in Washington, D.C., this summer through the university's Hinckley Institute of Politics. Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2014 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.
